Wear-resistant flooring

Application

Wear-resistant flooring

In China, black corundum is used to construct wear‑resistant and anti‑slip layers on road sections requiring high abrasion resistance and slip resistance, such as parking lot sharp curves and steep slopes, bridge decks, and epoxy flooring. Typically, after thoroughly cleaning the cement base, resin‑based adhesives are applied to bond black corundum particles of appropriate size into one or more layers; once the binder has cured, the black corundum wear‑resistant and anti‑slip layer is complete.

When applying wear‑resistant, anti‑slip surfacing abroad, practitioners typically select appropriately sized black corundum particles and use asphalt or similar binders for paving. Alternatively, during the construction of cement pavements, a layer of black corundum particles can be incorporated into the surface at a specified thickness in place of conventional aggregates such as gravel. This approach is more straightforward and easier to implement.
